Our Vision

Imagine an Ireland where food grows in forests,

communities thrive, and nature is restored.

That’s the future we’re planting - with climate, biodiversity, and circularity at its roots.

A Living Vision for a Regenerative Ireland

At Food Forests Ireland, we believe in a future where local communities grow their own food in harmony with nature - not through intensive farming, but by mimicking the natural wisdom of woodlands. These are food forests: edible, resilient ecosystems that restore the land while feeding people.

Food Forests Ireland is here to make that future a reality.

Our vision is bold but rooted in simplicity - a return to circular systems, where every tree, shrub, and plant plays a part in nourishing people, regenerating ecosystems, and building resilience to climate change.

Across the country, in schools, community gardens, and public spaces, we're helping people reimagine how land is used - and who it serves.

Together, we are:

Reviving Ireland’s native biodiversity

Empowering people through nature- based education

  Strengthening local food security

Supporting climate adaptation from the ground up

Advancing a circular bio- economy that works with nature, not against it

Food Forests Ireland isn’t just about planting trees. It’s about planting systems of care, connection, and regeneration - for now and for future generations.

Why it matters

•  Nature is under pressure. We’re losing species, soil, and natural balance.

•  Food systems are fragile. Local resilience matters more than ever.

•  Communities need solutions. Food forests are hands- on, hopeful, and healing.

Food Forests Ireland offers an inclusive, scalable model - supported by policy, and powered by communities.

Grounded in Policy, Aligned with Impact
